BetaNYC/service-alerts ? reverse-engineered prompt

Reverse engineered prompt

Build me a small web app that keeps track of MTA service alerts over time.

It should check the live MTA service alert feed regularly, save each update to a database, and keep a full history so I can see how long each alert lasted and how often different kinds of problems happen. The app should also expose the stored data through a simple JSON API, so another frontend could use it later.

Please make it handle the messy alert text too, since some of the useful details are buried in the human readable description. If you can, extract things like the line affected, the type of issue, and any station or direction clues from the text. It would be great if the data model makes it possible to match up the same alert across multiple minutes when it is still the same event.

Use the existing project structure if it helps, and look up current docs online if you need to. I care most about reliable scraping, clean stored history, and an API that is easy to build a map based frontend on later.
