GetStream/stream-chat-android ? reverse-engineered prompt

Build me an official Android chat SDK for a messaging app, with a solid low level client for talking to the chat API and handling realtime events, plus offline support with caching and automatic retries.

I also want reusable chat UI components so people can quickly add a channel list, conversation screen, message composer, reactions, typing indicators, read states, attachments, editing and deleting messages, and link previews. It should work well with modern Android apps, especially Jetpack Compose, but also support the older XML style UI for teams that still need it.

Please include a couple of sample apps, one showing the Compose version and one showing the classic UI version, so it is easy to see how everything fits together.
