GoldenThrust/Voidfront — reverse-engineered prompt

Build me a relaxing browser space scene called Voidfront using plain JavaScript and HTML Canvas 2D. I want it to feel like an endless looping universe where ships drift around on their own, leave smooth fading trails, and wrap from one side of the screen to the other instead of disappearing.

Add a layered animated star field for depth, scattered asteroids, and a small minimap so I can see where ships are in the larger looping world. The whole thing should run as a simple web page with nice dark space styling and smooth animation.

Also include a rough built in shape editor where I can click points on a grid to design ship or object shapes, then export the normalized vertex numbers so I can paste them back into the object definitions later. It doesn’t need to be polished, just useful.
