Build me a simple Python tool for working with encrypted strings.

I want something lightweight that I can run locally to take a piece of text and turn it into an encoded or encrypted version, then get the original text back again later. Keep it easy to use, with a small script I can run from the terminal and clear prompts or function names so I can understand what’s happening.

It should feel like a personal utility for messing with strings, not a big app. If it makes sense, include a few different common string crypto style options and a simple menu or commands for encrypting and decrypting. Keep the code clean and easy to read since I may want to tweak it myself later.

If you need to, look up current Python docs or best practices online while building it, but keep the project simple and focused on string cryptography.
