Jaspersoft/jasperreports ? reverse-engineered prompt

I want to get this JasperReports project building cleanly and make sure the main samples and tests still work.

Please check the Maven setup, run the build, and fix anything that stops the core library, optional extensions, docs, and tests from compiling. If there are any issues with the Java version or missing dependencies, please sort those out in the simplest way that fits the project.
