JetBrains/intellij-community ? reverse-engineered prompt

Help me get IntelliJ IDEA Community running from source on my computer.

I’ve cloned the repo and I want a working local build I can open and run, with clear steps for anything I’m missing. Please check the setup, make sure the required Android modules are fetched, and get the project ready in IntelliJ so I can build and launch the app without guessing. If there are any current build quirks or missing plugins I need, tell me what to install and what to click, and if something is outdated look up the latest docs online if needed.

Once it’s set up, I want to be able to run the IDE from the IDE or from the command line, and also know the simplest way to build an installer for my current system. If anything fails, please fix the config so the project builds cleanly and explain what changed in plain language.
