I want to build an AI coding assistant that feels like a real agentic engineering platform. It should work both as a VS Code extension and as a standalone CLI tool.

The main idea is that a developer can give it tasks in natural language, and the agent can generate code, run terminal commands, and even check its own work to fix errors. It should also provide smart inline autocomplete suggestions directly in the editor.

Please make it flexible so it can connect to the latest AI models like Claude, Gemini, and whatever GPT is current. Users should be able to plug in their own API keys. Also, build in a few different 'modes' for different tasks, like one for planning architecture and another for just writing code. For automation, include a special flag for the CLI, like --auto, that lets it run without any human confirmation, which would be perfect for CI/CD pipelines.
