I want to build a platform that's an open-source, privacy-first alternative to Google's NotebookLM. The main idea is to let users create "notebooks" where they can add an unlimited amount of sources from their local files, but also connect to their data in places like Google Drive, Notion, and Dropbox.

The system should have a few parts: a web interface built with Next.js, a Python backend using FastAPI for the AI logic, and a desktop app. The desktop app is important—it should offer a system-wide "quick assist" feature, where a user can highlight text in any application and ask the AI a question about it using their personal documents as context.

It also needs real-time collaboration so teams can work together in a shared space. A key feature is allowing users to configure their own LLMs, including local ones through Ollama, so they aren't locked into a single provider. The AI should also be able to generate reports, podcasts, and even simple videos based on the source documents. Please make it easy to self-host with Docker.
