Build me a Python MCP server called Pulse that Claude can use to research and compare a small group of companies.

I want it to take Crustdata style evidence about companies, jobs, people, and web signals, then help answer questions like which companies are still building product and which ones are moving into sales, marketing, enterprise, or hiring expansion. It should expose simple Claude tools for getting a cohort, viewing a company snapshot, comparing job patterns, classifying company phase, generating company and cohort briefs, and exporting the brief.

Please include a mock demo that works without any API key, using five fictional AI infrastructure companies, and make it print the tool flow plus save example JSON and markdown outputs. Live Crustdata mode can be experimental and should only run when a token and explicit live mode are provided.

Set it up with tests for mock mode, export safety, JSON friendly outputs, phase classification, and MCP tool registration. Use current docs online if needed.
