I want to build an AI agent that runs in the terminal to help with coding and other development tasks. The main idea is that I can give it a request in plain English, and it should be able to figure out how to complete it.

It needs to be able to read and edit code files, execute shell commands, and even search the web to find information or documentation. I'm looking for something autonomous that can plan and adjust its own actions.

It should have a simple way to switch between AI mode and a regular shell mode, maybe with a keyboard shortcut. A key feature is integration—it has to work inside VS Code, and it would be great if it could also enhance my existing shell, like Zsh.
