RRAAYYY/extension-baru ? reverse-engineered prompt

Build me a simple Chrome extension with a clean popup and a background script, using the files in this project.

I want it to feel like a real, finished extension, with a nice looking popup, sensible colors, and the existing icons wired in properly. Make the popup usable right away, with a couple of basic controls or status text, and have the background script handle the extension behavior behind the scenes. If something needs to be stored or remembered, use the normal browser storage so it still works after refresh.

Please make sure the extension loads correctly in Chrome, the popup opens from the toolbar icon, and the UI and scripts are connected end to end. Keep it lightweight and polished, and if you need to check anything about current extension behavior or docs, look it up online first.
