Build me a free desktop app for Mac, Windows, and Linux that helps people make polished screen recordings for demos and tutorials.

I want it to feel like a simpler, open source alternative to Screen Studio, with a recording tray, a global hotkey to start, and the ability to capture the screen, a window, or a selected area. While recording, it should support microphone and system audio, a face cam overlay, countdown, pause and resume, and on screen drawing tools like pen, shapes, text, and highlights.

After recording, I want a simple editor where I can add zooms, follow the cursor, tweak the cursor look, choose a background, and save presets so I can reuse my style. Captions would be great too if they can run locally on the machine.
