Build me a mini Slack style team chat app with a clean dark and light mode interface, real time channel messaging, private direct messages, threaded replies, emoji reactions, typing indicators, and unread message badges.

I want users to be able to sign up, log in, edit their profile, pick an avatar, and jump into a workspace with a sidebar of channels like general, engineering, web, ai, devops, design, and random. Messages should update instantly without refreshing, and DMs should stay separate from public channels. Threads should open in a side panel, deleted messages should stay visible as deleted instead of disappearing completely, and reactions should be easy to add and remove.

Also include workspace search, a home dashboard, toast notifications for new DMs, and a nice empty state when no channel is selected. Keep it polished and responsive, and make the app feel fast. If you need to check current docs for anything, look them up online first.
