Build me a Thunderbird add on that can open and decode winmail.dat messages from Microsoft email, so the attachments and message details show up normally instead of looking broken. It should work in current Thunderbird versions, and if it helps, keep compatibility in mind for older setups too.

I want it to extract the files hidden inside TNEF messages, and also handle the useful mail data like calendar invites and contacts by turning them into normal iCalendar and vCard items when possible. It should have a simple settings area, and a way to turn on debug output so I can see what it is doing in the error console if something goes wrong.
