Build me an open source AI coding agent that runs mainly in the terminal and helps me work on a codebase by chatting with it, exploring files, and making changes for me.

I want it to feel like a real coding assistant, not just a chat box. It should have a nice terminal interface, support at least a normal build mode and a read only planning mode, and let me switch between them easily. It should be able to inspect a project, suggest a plan, edit files when allowed, and run commands when needed. It should also support connecting to different AI providers instead of locking me into one, and work well with code navigation features like language server support.
