Build me a web app called SideNote for people who want a personal reading library and a place to keep notes while they read.

I want users to be able to sign up, log in, and stay logged in with a session. Once signed in, they should see their own library where they can add books with a title, author, reading status, rating, and an optional cover image. It should also let them search for book covers from Open Library and pick one easily.

Each book should have its own page or view where they can add, edit, filter, and delete annotations like quotes, thoughts, and reactions. I also want bulk delete for books and for annotations. Finished books should support a simple five star rating system.

Make it feel clean and responsive, with reusable cards, forms, and modals. Use a React frontend and a Node and Express backend with PostgreSQL, and make sure all data is tied to the signed in user. If you need current setup details, look up the latest docs online.
