Build me a simple Lua GUI app from this repo, centered around the existing null.lua file.

I want it to be a clean, working little desktop interface that opens a window, shows the main content clearly, and handles basic user interaction without feeling unfinished. Keep it lightweight and easy to run, and if anything is missing, fill in the simplest sensible version so it actually works end to end.

Please make it feel polished enough to use, with sensible layout, labels, and a few basic controls if they fit. If you need to check current docs or examples online for the GUI approach, go ahead and do that.
