amix/vimrc ? reverse-engineered prompt

Build me a Vim setup repo that works like a really polished personal starter pack for Vim. I want a basic version that is just one simple config file I can drop into my vimrc, and an awesome version that installs a bunch of useful plugins, color themes, and sensible defaults for everyday editing. It should be easy to install for just one user or for multiple users on the same machine, and there should be a simple update command or script too.

Make it feel ready for real use, with good file browsing, fuzzy finding, syntax highlighting, search, commenting, Git help, snippets, indentation guides, and a distraction free writing mode. Also include a clean way for me to add my own custom settings later without touching the main files. If anything needs current plugin or install instructions, look them up online if you need to.
