Build me a simple but powerful charting library for the web that helps people make dashboards, explore data, and tell stories with charts.

I want the main experience to feel really easy at first, so someone can create a chart with just a small amount of code, but still have room to customize advanced things like colors, shapes, scales, layouts, animations, and interactions when needed. It should support common charts like bars, lines, and other data driven visualizations, and render well in the browser with smooth performance.

Please also make a clean demo or playground page with a few good examples, like a basic bar chart, an interactive chart, and one more polished storytelling example.
