Build me a simple GitHub project for an awesome list of open source hardware resources. I want the main thing to be a well organized README that people can browse to find chip design tools, PDKs, compilers, verification tools, simulators, board design tools, reusable designs, generators, CPUs, memory, systems, and education material.

Keep it curated, not a random dump. Every entry should link to the actual source code repository, only include open source projects that seem usable, and give each project one short plain English tagline. Group everything by category and subcategory, keep entries alphabetical inside each section, and add a table of contents so the page is easy to scan.

Also add a small Python helper script for maintainers that can work with the listed repositories, like collecting or cloning them into a local repos folder. Include a license and keep the repo clean and easy for contributors to update.
