archlinux/linux — reverse-engineered prompt
Reverse engineered prompt
I want to build this Arch Linux kernel source tree locally and end up with a usable kernel package or at least a safe test build.
Please inspect the repo first, read the README, and especially read the AI coding assistant guidance in the Documentation folder before changing anything. Then figure out the normal build requirements, set up a sensible default workflow, and give me simple commands I can run. I’m not trying to redesign the kernel or add new features. I just want a clean build, modules built too, and clear instructions for testing it safely without risking my current system.
If there are missing tools or config choices, tell me plainly what to install or choose. If the build fails, troubleshoot it and only make minimal fixes that are appropriate for this kernel tree. Look up the current kernel docs online if you need to.
