Build me a local smart home firmware for ESP8266 and ESP32 devices, like smart plugs, switches, sensors, and Sonoff or Tuya style hardware. I want it to be easy for a normal person to flash, connect to WiFi, and configure from a simple web page without needing the cloud.
It should support local control through MQTT, HTTP, serial, and KNX where possible. Add OTA updates so devices can be updated later from the network. Include timers and simple rules so people can automate things like turning a relay on at sunset, reacting to a button, or publishing sensor values.
Please make it expandable for lots of device types using modules or templates, and make the build work with PlatformIO for different ESP8266 and ESP32 targets. Include clear docs for installing, compiling, updating, backing up settings, and safety warnings for mains powered devices.
Look up current docs online if you need to.
