awslabs/git-secrets ? reverse-engineered prompt

Build me a small command line tool called git secrets that helps stop people from accidentally committing passwords, API keys, and other sensitive stuff into git repos.

I want it to be able to install the needed git hooks in a repository, scan files and full commit history for risky patterns, and block commits, commit messages, and non fast forward merges when something looks like a secret. It should also let me add my own blocked patterns, allow a few safe exceptions, register common AWS checks, and read extra patterns from a custom provider command.

Please include a simple install flow for Linux and macOS, plus a Windows install script, and make sure there’s a man page or help output that explains how to use it. If you need to look up current git hook behavior or docs online, go ahead.
