Build me a self hosted PDF toolbox website, basically an open source alternative to iLovePDF that I can run on my own server. I want a clean modern interface with light and dark mode, simple drag and drop uploads, PDF preview, and clear progress while files are being processed. It should feel privacy first, no signup, no watermarks, no annoying limits, and uploaded files should be cleaned up automatically after a short time.
Please include the main PDF tools people actually need, like merge, split, rotate, delete and reorder pages, compress, convert between PDF and common formats, OCR for scanned PDFs, password protect and unlock, watermark, sign, extract text and images, compare PDFs, page numbers, metadata editing, bookmarks, repair, and basic file info. Heavy jobs should work reliably in the background and the app should let people check status and download results when ready.
Make it easy to run locally with Docker Compose, and use sensible defaults from the repo. If anything is unclear, look up the current docs online and fill in the gaps.
