I want a simple self hosted search site that gives me clean Google results with zero ads, no tracking, no amp links, and nothing following me around.

Just a clean page where I type a query and get plain text results I can click through. It should feel private by default, block cookies and javascript where possible, support light dark and system themes, and let me use bangs like !wiki or !reddit to jump to other sites.

Add search suggestions as I type, plus a config file or env settings so I can tweak language, region, or point it through a proxy if I want. Make it super easy to run locally with docker or on a vps so I can set it as my default browser search engine.

Use python and keep everything lightweight. Look up current best practices if needed but stay focused on privacy and simplicity. Build the whole thing for me.
