Build me a C++ project that acts as a Wayland compositor library for writing desktop shells.

I want it to handle the hard parts for me, like touch, mouse, and tablet input, support multiple displays, and keep client and server communication secure. It should also deal with different graphics and input hardware without forcing the shell author to worry about quirks. Include a simple high level API for window management so I can customize the default behavior without digging through low level details.

Please make it feel like a real reusable library, with a clean public interface, a few working examples, and enough tests that I can trust it. If there are current best practice docs or Wayland references you need to check online, go ahead and look them up. Also include basic build and packaging support so it can be compiled and used on a Linux system.
