coderamp-labs/gitingest ? reverse-engineered prompt

Reverse engineered prompt

I want to build a tool that makes it super easy to feed an entire GitHub repository into an LLM for context.

The main feature should be a simple web service where a user can take any GitHub URL, swap 'hub' for 'ingest', and instantly get a single, clean text file of the entire codebase. This output needs to be optimized for pasting into a prompt, and it should show some basic stats like the file tree and total token count.

This should also work as a command-line tool. You could run gitingest <url> or point it to a local folder and it would generate the same text digest. It should be smart enough to ignore files listed in .gitignore.

Finally, let's also create simple browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox to make this even more convenient. The core logic should be a Python package, and the whole thing should be self-hostable with Docker.

Are you gonna build this?
