crystal-lang/crystal ? reverse-engineered prompt

Build me a programming language project called Crystal. I want it to feel a lot like Ruby when writing code, but be statically checked and compile to fast native executables. The big idea is that people should not have to write type annotations everywhere, the compiler should infer most of that while still catching mistakes early.
Please make it a real usable language, not just a toy parser. It should have a compiler, a command line experience for running and building programs, a standard library, and some sample code and docs so someone can actually try it. I also want support for object oriented programming, calling C libraries through bindings, and compile time features for generating code and reducing boilerplate.
Keep the language practical and pleasant to use, with good performance as a core goal. Add tests and whatever project setup is needed so it feels like a serious open source language repo. If you need details, look up the current Crystal language docs and reference online and match that direction.
