Help me continue this native PC port of Beetle Adventure Racing for Windows and Linux.

It already boots, runs races, and has keyboard and gamepad input, audio, widescreen, higher frame rate support, and the launcher with settings and controls. I want you to clean up the rough edges, fix the known issues, and make it feel more finished and stable. If something is unclear, check the docs and look up current docs online if you need to.

Please focus on the gameplay experience first, so it launches reliably, runs smoothly, and the visuals and HUD still look right in widescreen. Keep the existing ROM requirement, don’t add any copyrighted game data, and preserve the current recompilation based approach. If there are platform specific problems, especially on Linux, make the build and startup as solid as you can.

Also improve any obvious polish issues, and keep the docs and notes in sync with whatever you change so it’s easy to pick up later.

Are you gonna build this?
