Build me a friendly mocking library for .NET that helps me write cleaner unit tests without a lot of boilerplate.
I want to be able to create mocks for interfaces and classes, set up return values and errors, match any argument when I need to, and verify that methods were called the way I expect. It should handle common test needs like async code, events, extra interfaces, and ref and out parameters. I’d also like the nicer style where setups can be strongly typed and feel natural to use in C#.
Make it work as a source based library that can be customized from the test project, and expose the lower level mock state too for advanced cases. Keep the API simple and pleasant, and include a few usage examples and tests so I can see how it’s supposed to be used. If you need to check current .NET docs or language features while building it, go ahead and look them up online.
