esp8266/Arduino ? reverse-engineered prompt

I want this turned into a complete Arduino support package for ESP8266 boards so someone can install it, pick their board, write normal Arduino style sketches, and upload them straight to the ESP8266 without needing a separate microcontroller.

Please make sure the core includes the basics people expect for these boards, especially WiFi with TCP and UDP, simple HTTP and DNS features, OTA updates, flash file storage, SD card support, and common hardware stuff like SPI, I2C, and servos. It should feel polished enough that a user can install it through the usual Arduino board setup flow or use the source version, then build and run examples without a bunch of manual fixing.

If there are already docs, examples, board definitions, tools, and tests in the repo, wire everything up so it actually works end to end and clean up anything missing or broken. A smooth install and solid documentation matter here just as much as the code. Check current docs online if you need to.
