Build me this project so I can run it locally without fighting the setup.

I want HHVM to compile from source on my machine, then be able to run a simple Hack file and, if possible, serve a tiny Hack website with the built in web server. Please make the setup feel straightforward, like a clean first time install, with clear commands for building, starting it, and checking that it works. If there are any missing prerequisites or common gotchas, handle them or point them out in the simplest way possible. If you need to look up current docs online, go ahead.

I’d also like a basic smoke test so I can tell the build succeeded, and a short note explaining how to launch a sample app after everything is built.
