Build me this little 32 bit hobby operating system so it boots cleanly in QEMU and feels polished enough to explore.

I want the kernel to start from GRUB, show a simple text console, and give me an interactive shell where I can list files, read files from the initrd and FAT16 disk, run a test program, and see basic system info like memory and uptime. Keep the current low level pieces working too, like interrupts, keyboard input, paging, the heap allocator, user mode entry, syscalls, and the early process support.

If anything is incomplete or broken, fix it so the whole build runs end to end from make to ISO to boot. Add or improve small demo programs in user space if needed, and make sure the shell commands and process spawning still work. Look up current docs online if you need to, then update the code and any obvious build or runtime issues so I can boot it and try it right away.
