I want you to build an open-source chat platform, basically a self-hostable alternative to Discord. It should be for friends, groups, and communities.

The core features should include real-time text messaging with typing indicators, threaded replies, and emoji reactions. It needs to support voice and video calls with screen sharing, both in DMs and in community channels. Users should be able to organize channels into categories and set up granular permissions. For customization, let people upload their own emojis and stickers for their community.

The whole platform needs to be self-hostable so people have full control over their data. For the tech stack, let's build it primarily with TypeScript and Node.js for the backend services, and use React for the frontend. You can wrap the web client in Electron for a native desktop app.
