Build me an agentless vulnerability scanner for servers that can check Linux and FreeBSD machines, and ideally also handle containers and common app libraries. I want it to connect to remote machines, collect package and system information without installing anything on the target, and then compare that against known vulnerability sources so it can tell me which servers are affected and what issues they have.
It should support both a quick scan and a fuller scan, work from one central machine over SSH when needed, and also have a mode where the target can send results back over HTTP. Please include clear reporting, exportable results, and alerts by email or Slack. It would be great if it can detect things like outdated packages, reboot needed warnings, and vulnerabilities in WordPress or language dependencies when possible. If you need to look up current docs or data source formats online, go ahead and do that.
