Reverse engineered prompt
Build me a Python tool that helps me test and monitor web application firewalls on systems I own or have permission to assess.
I want it to check one URL or a list of URLs, detect whether a WAF is present, and then run safe validation tests so I can see how the site reacts to different request patterns. It should keep track of results, show a simple summary at the end, and save useful stats like success, failures, errors, and response code trends.
Please make it configurable from a file and from command line options, with sensible defaults, input validation, retries, rate limiting, and clear logging. If it makes sense, add a lightweight learning component that adjusts test strategy based on previous responses, but keep it focused on defensive testing and reporting rather than real attack behavior.
Use clean, well organized Python code, include a basic CLI, and make sure there are tests for the main flow. If you need current docs for any libraries, look them up online first.
