Build me a new terminal emulator called Ghostty. My main goal is to create an application that is extremely fast and feature-rich, but also feels completely native on both macOS and Linux, so I don't have to compromise.
It should be GPU-accelerated for high performance, using Metal on macOS and OpenGL on Linux. The user experience must be top-notch and platform-specific. For macOS, that means a true SwiftUI application with a proper menu bar, settings GUI, and integration with things like AppleScript. For Linux, it should be built with GTK to blend in with the desktop environment.
Functionality should include all the basics like tabs, multiple windows, and split panes. It also needs to support more modern terminal features, like showing images directly in the console similar to how the Kitty terminal does. Finally, a key part of this is that the core terminal logic should be packaged as a cross-platform C-compatible library that other developers can use to embed a terminal in their own apps.
