h5bp/html5-boilerplate — reverse-engineered prompt

Build me a clean HTML5 starter template that I can use as the base for new websites or small web apps. I don’t want a heavy framework or a strong opinion about how everything has to be built. I just want a fast, reliable, modern starting point with sensible HTML, CSS, and JavaScript already organized.

Please include a basic homepage, default styles, useful helper classes, placeholder social sharing tags, mobile friendly media queries, good print styles, and simple scripts so I can run it locally and build it later. Make it easy to delete anything I don’t need without breaking the rest.

I’d also like the project to feel professional out of the box, with clear comments and a short README explaining how to start, edit, and publish a site from it. Support current major browsers and use progressive enhancement so the basics still work even if JavaScript fails. Look up current docs online if you need to.
