Build me a simple working web app in this repo, with a Python backend and a frontend that talks to it.

I want the whole thing to run easily with Docker Compose, with a clean local setup using the example env file. Please make the app feel complete, with a basic UI, a few useful endpoints, and clear startup instructions so I can run it without digging around.

If anything important is missing, set sensible defaults and keep it easy to understand. Use current docs online if you need to check the best way to wire things up. Also make sure the project structure stays tidy, and that it is obvious where the backend, frontend, and config live.

At the end, I want to be able to launch it, open the app in a browser, and see it working end to end.
