Build me a personal Linux dotfiles repo for people who are not using NixOS. I want it to feel like a real desktop setup, with the actual config files checked in under the normal home directories, plus any small helper scripts and QML based desktop pieces needed to make it work.
The main goal is a simple install script so someone can paste one command into a terminal on a fresh machine and have the setup applied with as little manual work as possible. Please make it handle existing files sensibly, include a basic way to track updates if needed, and keep the whole thing easy to maintain.
Also add a very short README with the one line install command, a warning that the installer sends anonymous non identifying telemetry for debugging and rough usage counts, and a few contact links. Keep it practical and clean, and look up current docs or common dotfile installer patterns online if you need to.
