jayphelps/git-blame-someone-else ? reverse-engineered prompt
Reverse engineered prompt
Build me a tiny command line tool for Git that lets me reassign blame on a commit to someone else, just for fun.
I want to be able to run something like git blame-someone-else <author> <commit> and have it update that commit so the author and committer show up as the person I choose. Please make it easy to install from the repo with a simple make install step, and make sure the command is available as a normal Git subcommand.
Keep it playful, but also include a clear warning that this rewrites commit history and should not be used on a real production repo unless I know exactly what I am doing. If there are any edge cases or required Git details, handle them cleanly and keep the usage simple. If you need to check current Git docs or shell behavior online, go ahead and do that.
