I want to build a Python library to help me pull data out of PDF files. The most important feature is table extraction. I should be able to point the library at a PDF, and it should automatically find all the tables and return the data in a structured format that I can easily use, like a list of lists that I could save to a CSV. It needs to be good at identifying the rows and columns.
Besides tables, I also need to be able to extract all the plain text from a specific page or the whole document.
For more advanced use cases, it would be great if I could get granular information about the PDF's contents, like the exact coordinates and font of every single character, or the position of all lines and rectangles. And for debugging, I'd love a way to visualize what the tool is identifying by drawing boxes around the elements on the page.
