I want to build my own personal AI assistant, basically a "second brain" that I can host myself to keep my data private. The core of it should be a chat app where I can ask questions and get answers drawn from my personal knowledge base—my collection of PDFs, markdown notes from Obsidian, and even Notion pages. It should also be smart enough to search the web when my documents don't have the answer.

For the AI model, I want it to be flexible. It should support running local, private models like Llama 3 but also let me connect to powerful APIs like GPT or Claude. I need to access this from multiple places, so a clean web UI is a must, but an integration for WhatsApp and a plugin for Obsidian would be fantastic. Let's also add the ability to create custom 'agents' with specific personas for different research tasks. The whole thing should be built in Python and be easy to deploy with Docker.
