kronpatel/MediaForge ? reverse-engineered prompt
Reverse engineered prompt
Build me a polished Windows first media downloader called MediaForge that works as a Chrome or Chromium browser extension with a small local app running in the background.
I want to be able to grab videos or audio from supported pages, download MP3s at high quality, save videos in 1080p, 4K, or 8K when available, and download full playlists too. It should feel modern and clean, with dark, midnight, and high contrast themes, plus a simple history screen where I can review and clear past downloads. If the best quality is not available, it should fall back gracefully.
Please include the local backend that handles the actual downloading and FFmpeg processing, and the Windows companion app that sits in the system tray for scheduled downloads, notifications, update checks, and basic controls. Make it resilient so interrupted downloads and queue state recover on restart. I should be able to run the backend, load the extension, and use it without much setup beyond adding FFmpeg binaries. Feel free to check current docs online if needed.
