kubernetes/ingress-nginx ? reverse-engineered prompt

Build me a Kubernetes ingress controller that uses NGINX as the reverse proxy and load balancer.

I want it to watch Ingress resources, turn them into working NGINX config, and route traffic to the right services in the cluster. It should handle basic path and host based routing, support TLS, and be something I can deploy into a cluster with a Helm chart. Please include sensible defaults, a clean way to configure it, and the usual Kubernetes manifests needed to run it as a controller with logs and metrics.

If there are current best practices or newer docs I should follow, look them up online if you need to. Also make sure the project is built so it can be tested and released cleanly, since I may want to package and deploy it right away.
