loft-sh/devpod ? reverse-engineered prompt

Reverse engineered prompt

Build me a client only desktop app and command line tool that lets me open a dev container based workspace on different places, like my local machine, a Kubernetes cluster, a remote server, or a cloud VM.

I want it to feel like Codespaces, but open source and not tied to one provider. It should read a devcontainer.json, create the environment, connect my IDE to it, and make it easy to switch between workspaces later. If possible, include support for common editors like VS Code and JetBrains, and make the rest work over SSH.

Please make it easy to install on Mac, Windows, and Linux, and keep the experience simple for someone who just wants to click a few things and start coding. Add sensible defaults for things like stopping inactive workspaces, syncing git and docker credentials, and handling local as well as remote setups. If you need to look up current docs online, go for it.
