Build me a desktop app that can generate real-world locations as playable Minecraft maps. It should work for both the Java (1.17+) and Bedrock editions of the game.

The app should have a simple UI with a map view. I want to be able to use a tool to draw a rectangle on the map to select any area I want, like my hometown or a cool city. It should then use real-world data from OpenStreetMap and elevation data to build a detailed and accurate representation, including the terrain, roads, and buildings. I'd also like some basic customization options, like adjusting the world's scale, setting the spawn point, and deciding whether buildings should have their interiors generated.

This needs to be a cross-platform app that runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. For the tech, I think using Rust for the back-end processing would be great for performance, and Tauri seems like a good choice for the GUI.
