I want to build a self-hosted virtual browser for hosting watch parties, something like the old rabb.it service. The idea is to run a web browser, like Chrome or Firefox, inside a Docker container on my server. Then, it should stream that browser session in real-time to me and my friends through a simple web page.

Everyone who joins a room should see the same browser, and anyone should be able to take control of the mouse and keyboard to navigate, type, or play a video. A simple chat function for users in the room would be great, too. I'd like this to be easy to deploy with Docker Compose. While the main use is a browser, it would be cool if it could be configured to stream other Linux apps like VLC. The goal is a private, shared browsing experience I can run myself.
