Build me an Android image loading library like Fresco.

I want a library that makes it easy for an app to load and show images from the network, local storage, or app resources, with a placeholder while the image is still loading. It should cache images in memory and on disk so scrolling stays fast and images do not keep reloading. It also needs to handle older Android versions well and avoid memory problems as much as possible.

Please include support for progressive JPEGs, animated GIFs, and animated WebP images, plus a simple way to customize how images are fetched, cached, and displayed. If it helps, look up current Android docs online for anything that has changed. I’d also like a small sample app or demo screens that show the main features working together so it is easy to understand how to use the library.
