microsoft/edit ? reverse-engineered prompt

Build me a simple terminal text editor called Edit, with a clean modern interface that feels approachable even for people who do not usually use terminals.

It should let me open a text file, edit it comfortably, save my changes, and exit without fuss. The controls should feel familiar to anyone who has used VS Code, but the app itself should stay lightweight and simple, more like a modern take on the old MS DOS Editor. Make it easy to use with clear navigation, visible menus or hints, and a nice looking layout in the terminal.

If search and replace is supported, include that too. Please make it work well on Windows, Linux, and macOS, and keep the build straightforward from source so I can run it locally.
